About
Lena, a Dutch backpacker travelling the length of Vietnam, has spent a whole week in Huế at a tiny homestay in the backpacker quarter (phố Tây). On her last night, a sudden thunderstorm swept her travel journal off a café table and tore loose its four most precious pages.
Each page flew off to a place she had written about, and this afternoon Lena has to catch her bus to Hội An. You take up the café owner's request and follow each lost page to give Lena her journal back, whole again.
Along the way you decode secret messages, piece together a wind-torn drawing and rebuild the journal.
📍 Start: The Võ Thị Sáu – Chu Văn An crossroads (backpacker quarter).
⏱ Duration: about 1.5 hours.
🚶 Distance: about 2 km on flat ground.
🕘 Suggested schedule: start around 15:30–16:00.
💰 Possible costs:
- No ticket is needed to play: every stop is a public street or park, free.
- Drinks at cafés in the backpacker quarter or by the river: up to you.
⚠️ Notes: Lê Lợi street has heavy traffic, so cross at pedestrian crossings. Do not play during thunderstorms.
💡 Tips: bring water, a hat and a power bank.
Rules
- Try to start around 3:30–4:00 pm so the photo stages still have good light and the final stage lands at sunset; mornings or early afternoons work too.
- Starting point: the Võ Thị Sáu – Chu Văn An intersection, phố Tây area, Thuận Hóa ward, Huế city.
- Outside walking-street hours, traffic still runs through phố Tây: always walk and take photos on the sidewalk, and cross Lê Lợi street at the zebra crossing.
- Do not enter the grounds of Trường Đại học Sư phạm Huế (Huế University of Education) or any hotel lobby; every photo stage is done from sidewalks and public paths.
- In the flood season (October–December) the ironwood boardwalk may be under water: if so, stay on the sidewalk of Nguyễn Đình Chiểu street, and the final stages can still be played.
- Items go into your session bag: the four journal pages are used for Crafting, while the Travel Journal and Lena's Postcard are placed on the Collection Board at the end of the game.
