Turtle Citadel, Phuong Mountain - Part 1: The Three Gates of the City

More than two hundred years ago, at the foot of Dũng Quyết Mountain, Emperor Quang Trung had the capital Phượng Hoàng Trung Đô built. The capital was still unfinished when the emperor died, and the little phoenix, the capital's guardian spirit, fell into a very long sleep.
Today Phượng wakes up and is puzzled to find another citadel below the mountain: the Nghệ An Citadel, which the people of Vinh call the turtle citadel. While Phượng slept, three of its feathers fell and got caught at the three old citadel gates.
Along the way you decode a secret letter, find the laterite stone and assemble the three feathers into a mysterious fan. The story continues in Part 2 on Mount Quyết.
📍 Start: Tiền Môn (South Gate), Vinh Ancient Citadel.
⏱ Duration: about 60–75 minutes.
🚶 Distance: about 1–1.5 km on flat ground.
🕘 Suggested schedule: playable in the daytime or early evening, best around 15:30–17:30 when the sun is softer.
💰 Possible costs:
- No ticket is needed to play: the Vinh Ancient Citadel is a public space and every stage is outside the gates.
- Parking and drinks: up to you.
⚠️ Notes: motorbikes use the roads around the citadel, so take care when crossing. If you play in the evening, stay in a group and in lit areas.
💡 Tips: bring water and a power bank. Play Part 1 first, then head up Mount Quyết for Part 2.
Rules
- The entire journey is on foot, about 1 km within the ancient city of Vinh; please walk on the sidewalk and bring water.
- Hữu Môn is currently being used as a passage for vehicles: always stand on the sidewalk when observing, taking photos, or using a camera, do not stand in the middle of the road or under the arch when vehicles are present.
- The three city gates are national heritage sites: do not climb on the city walls, gates, or watchtowers, do not write or draw on the stones.
- The items received will be in the game bag: three phoenix feathers used for crafting at the end of the journey, the final piece of the letter used to assemble the secret message.
- Play during the day or evening, when the three city gates are lit; at night, be more cautious of traffic.
