About
An old tin box has just been found in a house. Inside is an unstamped letter signed "Lãm, map maker" (a fictional character).
Uncle Lãm spent his whole life drawing a map around Hoàn Kiếm Lake, then tore it into seven pieces and hid them where "those who look closely will see". He wrote down no place names, leaving only riddles, shuffled drawings and tiny details on the buildings.
Minh, Uncle Lãm's descendant, walks with you and now and then offers a hint. You observe, solve riddles, craft items and piece together Uncle Lãm's real map.
⏱ Duration: about 1.5 hours.
🚶 Distance: about 3.5 km on flat ground.
🕘 Suggested schedule: play in daylight, starting around 7:30–9:00 or 15:30–16:30 when it is cooler and the details on the buildings are easy to see.
💰 Possible costs:
- No ticket is needed to play: every stage is by the lake, on the street or outside buildings, free.
- Drinks and snacks around the lake: up to you.
⚠️ Notes: from Friday to Sunday evening the streets around the lake become a pedestrian zone, very crowded and hard for spotting details.
💡 Tips: bring water, a hat and a power bank. Many riddles need a close look at small details, so play while it is still light.
Rules
- Walk according to the riddle's directions; the game never directly states the name of the next point.
- Collect items, assemble them at the crafting table, and keep them safe in your inventory.
- Take a close-up photo of the described detail, no need to capture the entire structure.
- Walk on the sidewalk, be cautious of traffic when crossing the street, and maintain order in places of worship.
